But even well-guarded systems can be successfully hacked as Sterling (1993) notes, and the processes of both hacking and cracking are in many ways becoming easier all the time as more and more users (who have less and less technical knowledge about how their computers actually work) use a smaller and smaller set of programs (and operating systems) each year. As in the world of biology, homogeneity in computer use makes the population far more vulnerable to a range of infections and attacks.

649.21333 Are Women a ?Suspect Class??
The Supreme Court applies three standards of scrutiny (or levels of review) to cases involving equal protection issues. These standards are called rational, intermediate, and strict scrutiny. Over the course of judicial history, many judges have believed that women were not discriminated against and thus should not be designated as a suspect class and afforded strict scrutiny when contemplating issues of equal protection. In fact, the Supreme Court has never declared women to be a suspect classification, but rather an intermediate standard of scrutiny for sex discrimination was eventually adopted. This paper explores the questions of: What is a suspect class? What are some of the characteristics that distinguish what the courts call a ?suspect class?? Are women are a suspect class? Why or why not?

650.21476 Prison Substance Abuse Treatment Programs ? Effective or Not?
It has been demonstrated time and time again, by study after study, that criminal offenders with substance abuse problems have an extremely high rate of recidivism. That is, if a criminal has a drug problem, he or she is likely to commit another crime and end up back in prison after being released. It would logically follow then that prison substance abuse treatment programs should reduce recidivism and this in turn would save taxpayers? money because they will not have to fund further incarceration for particular prisoners. This paper explores the topic of whether or not prison substance abuse treatment programs are effective or not ? for both society, as well as the drug addicts themselves.
